Through this qualitative and quantitative analysis it is evident that the socio-economic and academic disparities are in need of being addressed. By highlighting the unique ongoing collaboration between Garfield Elementary & EBAYC, and the reinforcement of the OUSD concept on Garfield being a community school, the family resource center integrated with the Garfield renovation can become a transformational catalyst to the students, staff, and neighborhood.
